I strongly agree with the feedback about my Essay, and I do think they have a positive criticism. It is good and will motivate myself to become a better writer. Essentially me being an ESL student the error and mistakes are a lot because the process of writing English is not easy. I have a background in three languages besides English. Your brain automatically tends to think in these languages before you write in english. When you have positive feedback you are allowing yourself to take positive constructive steps to improve your own writing and develop as a better writer. The reason I am saying positive is because it can be negative as well and can be heartefull for some people. But from my feedback experience I kind of see that there was a place in the Essay that I could develop more and give more details for the readers.

Revision of the Memoir Essay1 My Ancester
Essay – 1 My Ancestors( My Grandmother
My Grandmother’s name was Suzana Medina.
She was born in one of the biggest Cape Verde Islands called Santiago in a small village called Tarrafal. She was the youngest of four sisters, probably 5 ’11 tall, very skinny, very Chookasian skin complex, long soft hair that she used to two or four and make long braids that laydown over her breast, she always wore a long black shirts and white button-down shirt.
My Grandmother married her high school sweetheart when she was 18 years old, and due to the hunger pandemic back in that year they emigrated to the country of Sao Tome and Principe where they had five children. Two boys-Didi and Daniel- and three girls-Maria, Hermelinda and Nuna-. Life in Cape Verde Islands was very difficult back in the days due to the hunger of 47. Cape Verdean Islands is located on the West Coast of Africa in the central Atlantic Ocean colonized by Portuguese in the 15th century, causing significant hardship and prompting heavy emigration. My grandmother always tells history about life in Sao Tome and Principe. It used to rain a lot and agriculture was good with lots of vegetables and fruit. They lived there for many years before they returned back to Cape Verde Island. When she regained her career as a Dula. I often would see her carrying a big black daff bag traveling from one island to another, but I never understood why she is never home most of the time. Until one day I asked her, “Grandmother why you always carried that bag, and you are never home”. She looked down in my face and smiled and she said, “Let me show you what I do when I’m not here, in her bag its was Cazares ,gloves ,fetoscopy books, and begging to explain the function of all equipment and that she helps a pregnant woman deliver a baby to this world and that she love it because it’s an amazing experience and that when she travels it is for training. I was so surprised but that explained why she was always on the go. My Grandmother had a big impact in the community where we lived. She was a therapist, psychologist, a marriage counselor due to her ability and the Knowlogy she had although she never pursued a college degree for it. But the community goes to her for all these issues if they have marriage problems, if they need to make big decisions because she always has the best advice and nice words of Conforte the best solution. The best memories I have of her are food and how disciplined she was. Every time I do something wrong, I run to her house, and she always has a different approach on parenting; she never believed that spanking your child was the best way to discipline; but always believes that the way to educate a child is by showing them the consequence of their action, responsibility and loving them. That had a lot of impact on me on how I raise my children. That violence only leaves trauma and unforgivable unhealthy memories. Grandmother was a cook. Her food was so good. My favorite recipe is the fish pudding. The process to make it takes so long but it was worth it wait and I was always excited to eat. When she made the fish pudding I always go to the kitchen and sat down on this long rustic old bench and watched her boil lots of potatoes and a big piece of well-seasoned fresh catch tuna; in a silver round grinder with the wood handle she shredder everything and add more seasons and bread crumbs and more stuffs, she will mixed well until get the consistency and goes to the oven for good 45 to 50 minutes. I always love animals and she got me a chicken and baby goat which I named after myself. Every day I used to pick up fresh eggs that the chicken laid for breakfast and the goat I took care of it until we moved to a different city. She was knowing as a caring, loving, charismatic, compassionated human being and everybody loved her. I will always cherish the time we had, and trying to be as kind as she were to others. My Grandmother passed when she was 63 of ovarian cancer. I love her and miss all the time we spent together.
Assignment #2 Respond to one of the following prompts.
1- Contrast between the Cyclical and the Linear notions of the time.Life was vastly diffent for are ancestors and their lives were basic on the observation of the different types of cycles that exist in the nature;the Season of the year, life cycle of living beings for the position of the stars is more like a philosophical conception. The Linear time as the time progresses people and society progress towards the better reality of time past present future.
Yes I do consider the movement from the cyclical sense of the time to a linear sense of the time a progression.
The Linear sense of the time matches more my own sense of the time; because the perception of time relies on the motor system involving brain, regions, culture, costumes. The society I am living in time is precious; Past is over I have to make decisions for the present and perform in the future.

The Marshmallow and Acorn brain
After human mind was studied on instant gratification. The scientist come up with the name according to the brain’s reaction The Marshmallow Brain which is part of what we are as a human being. The brain is quick to choose short-term desire gratification to satisfy ego, it’s like an addition. We want to be satisfied or make a quick decision of what we see in front of us, and we don’t think of long-term benefits or progress. Myself some time I make a short-term decision; instead of putting some money in to the savings I purges in some unnecessary purchases just so I can satisfy myself that’s my marshmallow brain; but on the other hand, my acorn brain in savings some percentage of my pay work check in to the 401K program for retirement. The Acorn Brain which allows to project distant future and invest in the long-term goals and achievement, thinks of future goals a better and productive world, an acorn brain go beyond today or a present to get to the future; Thanks to the acorn brain today we have what we see today evolutionary of history.
Reading and Writing Process
It’s probably weird to say, but I came from a background where education was a little different from now. I was born on Cape Verde Island in the 70s in a country that just took their Independence from a Colonist in 1975(Cape Verde was Colonized by Portuguese). The System was very much Portuguese. The country was still trying to rebuild by nominated are own President, created are own Constitution. Figured out the Economy Education Jobs. People did not have freedom of speech or express themselves against the Superiors. Although I grew up in a household with both parents being teachers, we did not have access to writing or reading. It was very rare to find books. I do remember going to the trash and getting pages of books that people threw out to read, and at that time I used to like to read. Today there’s so many writers Poets and readers all over the country. It was not until I came to this country that I realized how the system is here. How school Parents Institutions invest in writing and reading especially as a young human being. I am not a reader or a writer, I mostly read as an adult, and it is church book inspired and it does take me a long time to finish a book if it’s not interest. The book I prefer to read is Memoir. And I do not like to write. And my dream is going back to my country and opening a Library.
